Netflix not working on smart TV – How to fix it

How to fix Netflix 2017 not working on LG Smart TV / Samsung Smart TV / Sony Smart TV

Many of us may face this type of Netflix error on the multitude of devices. LG Smart TV is one of them, however, and we’re busy with it today.

The case of the error may vary from person to person, although the device is only LG Smart TV. As a result, I’ve created only a few ways to help you effortlessly fix the non-working Netflix error.

Case 1: Netflix does not work with LG Smart TV when creating a new Netflix account

This is an initial stage when you may see a Netflix “Not Working” error. Netflix generates an error when setting up the new Netflix account. Here are the simple steps to fix this error on your LG Smart TV. In this case, the Smart TV can also be Samsung and Sony.

  • Open the Netflix app from the launch bar, which you can see.
  • On the home screen of the Netflix app on your LG Web OS 1.0 Smart TV, click “Start Your Free Month”.
  • Need to enter email ID, Name and password.
  • Select a subscription option.
  • Fill in the payment information.
  • Confirm your Netflix TV account.

This is the easiest way to install the Netflix app on Smart TV. It will be super good if the internet connection is good. Otherwise, you may need to reconnect your smart TV to the internet and change the router if necessary. Restart your Smart TV after making changes to your TV’s internet connection.

Netflix not working on Apple TV

As one of the most popular streaming services available, you can (rightly) expect the Netflix surfing experience to be perfect on Apple TVs. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Some common issues occur to prevent Apple users from streaming their favorite TV shows and movies using the Netflix app.

If Netflix freezes on Apple TV or if problems with Netflix don’t work on your Apple TV, you need to start troubleshooting. Follow the steps below to fix some of the most common issues with the Netflix app on Apple TV.

Force Netflix to close and restart

If your Netflix app doesn’t connect, doesn’t load, or doesn’t stream in any other way, try the most obvious step first: Close the app by force. Pressing the menu button on the Apple TV remote isn’t enough here, as you’ll need to force the Netflix app to close completely before trying to open it again.

This can help update the app, clear the cache, and be an easy fix for minor issues. You don’t have to worry about accessing settings to force an app to restart on an Apple TV. Simply press the Home button twice (next to the Menu button) to bring up the Apple TV app switcher.

Select Netflix from the App Switcher menu, then swipe up with the touchpad on the top of your Apple TV remote to force the app to close. Press Menu to return to the main Apple TV dashboard, and then try to open the Netflix app again.

Netflix not working on Samsung TV

Why would Netflix stop working on a Samsung smart tv?

The problem with smart TVs is that they are not very intelligent. They’re just TVs with internet connections and apps. These apps have to be written to the manufacturer with considerable effort. Once, A manager at Loewe UK told me that she had paid the BBC  £ 100,000 to write the iPlayer app for a new model. The problem is that after 3 or 4 years, manufacturers stop supporting old models. If the apps are not updated during development, they will stop working. This is probably your problem.

Two solutions

  • Buy a third sub-box, e.g. B. an Apple TV or Amazon Fire Stick. Connect that to the TV and run the apps on it. These dedicated app platforms are kept up to date for longer. If they die or are out of date, they can be replaced easily and inexpensively.
  • Buy an Android-based TV. The apps for these are more general; so hopefully, they can be updated easily and won’t stop working. Only time will tell if this is the case.
How to fix Netflix not working with Vizio Smart TV

Vizio TV freezes and does not switch off the power cycle method

This is a very common problem with Vizio Smart TV. When you open the Netflix app, it freezes and doesn’t turn off. This is due to the malfunction of the Vizio Smart TV operating system. So if you are facing this type of problem, try the Power Cycle method by following the steps below.

Do this-

  • First, turn off the TV
  • Now unplug the switch
  • Press and hold the power button on your Vizio Smart TV for at least 15 seconds while the TV is off (the power button is hard to find on new Vizio Smart TV models – check this on the back of your Smart TV).
  • Now reconnect your Vizio Smart TV and check whether the Netflix app works or not.

If your Vizio Smart TV cannot connect to Netflix, you may have Internet connection problems.

What is the solution?

Vizio TV internet connection problems – DN server setting method

Another common problem with Vizio Smart TV is that Netflix sometimes shows that an internet connection has failed even though you are already connected to the internet. Don’t worry though, changing the DNS server settings can fix this. Follow these steps to apply the DNS settings:

  • First, open your Vizio Smart TV and press the Home button on the remote control.
  • Since, Netflix doesn’t support or work on vizio smart TV.
  • Now look for the Network option and press OK.
  • Search for manual settings in the menu and press OK.
  • Now turn DCHP off by pressing the left arrow button on the Vizio Smart TV remote control to deactivate the settings.
  • Now scroll down and look for “Pref DNS Server”> change the numbers to 68.222.222.
  • Go to “Alt DNS Server”> change the numbers to 8.8.8.
  • Now highlight the Save setting option and press OK on the remote control.
  • Press Exit on the remote control and return to the main menu.

Now check whether Netflix works on your Vizio Smart TV or not

By adjusting these DNS server settings, you can customize how your Vizio Smart TV uses your modem and router to connect to the Internet.

If this method still doesn’t work, reset your Vizio Smart TV to factory settings.

Reset your Vizio TV to factory settings

If the above methods did not fix the problem with Netflix not working on Vizio Smart TV, your Vizio Smart TV operating system may be malfunctioning. This can be fixed by completely resetting your Vizio Smart TV to the factory default settings.

Follow the steps below to reset Vizio Smart TV to factory settings:

  • First, open the TV and press the menu button on the remote control.
  • Now look for the System option and press OK.
  • Find the Reset and Admin option and press OK.
  • Now select “Reset TV to factory settings” and press the “OK” option on the remote control.
  • This will automatically reset your Vizio Smart TV to the factory default settings.

After completing the whole procedure, your TV will ask you to connect to the internet connection. So, you need to connect to your home internet connection and have to check if your Netflix is working fine or not.

If, with all of the above methods, Netflix does not work on your Vizio Smart TV, contact the Vizio Smart TV representative for assistance to resolve this issue.
